It's detachable

Who I am, what this is: First a few words of introduction and explanation.

I'm an FTM. Those initials stand for female-to-male transsexual (not Fear the Mullet - although we do fear the mullet, both the redneck and lesbionic versions...more on that later).

I'm a guy that was born a girl. Thanks to massive weekly injections of testosterone, and an $8,000 surgery to remove my breasts and reshape my chest, I now look and sound completely male...until I drop my pants. Because I have no penis. Er, not one that's attached, anyway.

That's what this blog is about: the experience of going through life as a man without a penis. So, bio-guys (that's what we transguys call you folks who were born male), suppose you woke up one morning and your cock was missing - you know, like that King Missile song, Detachable Penis. Unthinkable? Welcome to my world.

(Check out the vid, for real. It's awesome.)

I am envious! A top surgery? Double incision, keyhole... which procedure did you choose? Did it leave bad scarring or did it heal up relatively well?

I'm inclined not to go for the surgery because of the nasty scars I've been seeing even quite a few years afterward.
